Joe Hugel Award: (Certificate & $250.00)

The Dufferin-Peel Roman Catholic District School Board established the Joe Hugel Award in honour of its first Director of Education in 1983.  The award was given to a grade 10 student because government funding of the school system was limited to this grade in its early beginning.  The Awards Committee assumed the sponsorship of this award in June of 1996.  This award is given to the grade 10 student in every secondary school with the highest overall final average.
